Venice Art Crawl To Host Afterburn Block Party
After dancing in the desert, it's time to cool off by the beach at the second annual Afterburn Block Party this Thursday night at the quarterly Venice Art Crawl.
One block of Rose Avenue, between 3rd and 4th streets, will be closed from 4 to 9 p.m. for a glowing, multi-sensory street party with group art shows, live painting, DJs, dancing and more. Dust off your playa play wear or Halloween boa—costumes are encouraged.
The evening will also feature a collection of art cars created by local artists, including “Charlie the Unicorn." Dress as a unicorn and join in on the unicorn stampede down Rose Ave.
"Guests will enjoy installations and artwork from various local artists including a 30ft. cardboard sculpture by Venice resident Ivo Vergara, an LED mural by David Anthony and the Raven Wind Harp by Obi Bob," Venice Art Crawl announced. "Altervision 3D will showcase their 3D art experience and Space Harp will amaze guests with their interactive sound installation. To commemorate the event, attendees can bring their own t-shirt or tank top to have screen printed with special edition Venice Afterburn artwork."
Full Circle Venice will host the official Afterburn after party, which will feature an art lounge, dancing, elixir bar and a midnight 432hz Sound Healing with Torkom Ji.
There are also dozens of other pop-up galleries, special events and local discounts on food and shopping to be found throughout the neighborhood. For a full list of evening events, visit www.veniceartcrawl.com and www.facebook.com/theveniceartcrawl.
